's Contest 33, Book into Movie.
To be honest, I'd like to think this would be Disney's response to Dreamworks' "How to Train Your Dragon." No offense to such a fantastic film.
"My Father's Dragon" is the first of a trilogy of books by Ruth Stiles Gannet, first published in 1948. The story is the adventures of Elmer Elevator as he braves the dangerous Wild Island of talking animals to save a baby dragon (whom is named Boris according to the following books) forced into servitude. All in all, just a whimsical tale.
Elmer's main dream is to be a pilot, so I just drew him riding Boris. After all, who doesn't want to ride on a flying dragon?
